Slim Water vs Soda Fat
There are loads of ways to halt the progress of the body's accumulation of fat but few have as big an impact as swapping soda for water to drink.
This natural and plentiful resource is exactly what we need to help us on the journey toward the slimmer figure I'm angling at in this mini-series and which sort of follows on from the last article: Moving Forward.
So what's so special about water? While drinking water won't make you thin, what it does do is replace the 140 calories or so per every can of soda you currently drink with zero calories in every thirst quenching glass.
In a week of drinking just two cans of soda per day on average, that can add up to around 2,000 calories.
So I think you can see the major benefit to making this simple yet effective switch in your diet.
Do I Have To?
Let's just stop and think about this for a moment. You may well ask, "Do I have to stop drinking soda?" The simple answer is, "No, of course you don't."
In fact if you want your butt to get even bigger, go right ahead and drink even more why don't you!
Let's look at this from another perspective. If you want to get slimmer and lose that bulging butt along with the flabby thighs and wobbly tummy, you might want to consider making this simple yet amazing powerful change in what you drink when you're thirsty.
If you got tricked into believing that water doesn't quench your thirst as well as cold, fizzy soda, it's time to dispel that myth. Our bodies are mostly water, so it just makes plain sense to replace what we need with the same stuff.
If you prefer a cold drink, why not put some water in a bottle with a generous squeeze of fresh lemon juice and keep it in the fridge. That way you'll have a cold, ready to drink thirst quenching drink whenever you want it!
Again, you don't have to do anything you don't want to. You can stay as you are and wait for the drugs companies to invent the magic bullet to take away all your fat just by swallowing a pill. Just don't hold your breath!
Take a Reality Break
The reality of life as we know it is that there is no magic bullet weight loss pill and there won't be one anytime soon. Disclaimer: If one gets invented sometime soon, I take it all back!
But really; if you're waiting for the easy way out you are probably in for a long wait. In the meantime, you can do yourself some real good by seriously considering this option for cutting your calorie count and losing a few pounds of fat along the way.
If your average is just two cans of soda per day and you're adding 2,000 empty calories to your body's fat store each week, just think how much that adds up to over the course of a month. Hint: it's over 8,000 calories. Over a year that's around a staggering 100,000 calories!
Still want to crack open that cold can of sweet fizzy butt fat?
What About Diet Soda?
Oh yeah, there is always diet soda that's low in calories but still high on sweetness and taste to come to your rescue, right? Think again!
While diet soda may be very low in calories, it is high in artificial sweeteners that are linked with some nasty scary health problems, not least of them being cancer. Sure, there are plenty of people who don't believe it. There were plenty of people who didn't believe smoking cigarettes caused cancer either.
Even if you don't mind playing Russian roulette with each ring-pull, there is another consideration that anyone who is intent on losing weight should be aware of. The artificial sweetener in most diet soda (aspartame) has another irritating property in that it stimulates hunger.
Oh great! Just what you need when you're on a diet, to feel even hungrier!
"Water Great Idea!"
Good old fashioned water on the other hand does not make you feel hungry. In fact it can have the opposite effect.
If you drink a glass of water before every meal, you will feel much more satisfied with what you eat and will feel fuller and less likely to want to snack between meals.
This humble liquid has so many good positive properties I wonder how we got so easily lulled away from drinking it by the soft drinks companies in the first place. But the truth is that drinking plain water is absolutely the best way to hydrate our bodies.
Did I mention it also comes out of the kitchen tap for free? Now how about that!
